DIY Program Highlights:

  1. Focused on Building from Scratch: The aim is to help students build a complete project from scratch, be it a car body, boat, aircraft, furniture, or sculpture.
  2. Tailored Experience: Depending on the needs, a student (termed the “Principal”) can either work solo or have up to two helpers. The 30-day period can also be split into two-week increments for flexibility.
  3. Inclusive of All Facilities: Accommodation is considered with a static motor home available for rent. Additionally, facilities like a shower, kitchen with stoves, and refrigerators are present to cater to all basic needs.

Getting Started:

  1. Project Pitch: Principals initiate by pitching their project idea. Those ready to commence will be prioritized.
  2. Registration for Helpers: Helpers can register to get on a list and will be chosen as projects get scheduled.
  3. Payments: Made when the project schedule is confirmed.

Roles & pricing

  • Principals: They initiate the project and are the primary learners. Principals bear the costs of all materials used in the project.
  • Helpers: Can join based on the Principal’s need. They assist in the project and learn alongside.
  • For Principals:
    • 2-week interval (15 days total): $250.00/day
    • 4-week interval (30 days total): $200.00/day
  • For Helpers:
    • Ranges from $250.00/day for 2 days to $125.00/day for 30 days.

Projects:

  • Criteria: All projects need to be pre-approved. They will be made from 3003 aluminum .063″, with no steel bodies.
  • Examples of Potential Projects:
    • Car Bodies: 1932 Ford coupe, 1934 Ford coupe, 1965 Shelby Cobra, and more.
    • Other Possibilities: Boat, Airplane, Furniture, Sculpture, etc.
